SARAH BROWN LONDON
Inspired by the glamour and luxury of mid-century lingerie design, infusing a bygone era approach through the use of the finest, luxurious fabrics and hand-sewn, artisan techniques, into pieces which have a focus on fit and wearability for a more modern pace. Readdressing the art of lingerie and drawing from that bespoke, made-to-order experience, each piece is hand-crafted using rare, time-honoured techniques such as pleating, scalloping, French seams, rouleaux bows, envelope tucks and concertina silk straps in a tempting array of silks, Chantilly lace, tulle and grosgrain. Blending subtle vintage undertones with more contemporary elements, creating a complete lingerie wardrobe including bridal options. Exquisite, love-forever, investment pieces.
Story of the brand
Having created her own clothing from a young age, Sarah Brown was naturally fascinated by the artistry involved in hand-crafting bras. The designer honed her skills in the fashion industry before launching her eponymous brand in 2016. She elevates lingerie to luxury status, selecting exquisite fabrics with meticulous care. Silk takes centre stage, as well as Chantilly lace and cotton poplin for stylish and comfortable pyjamas. Inspired by 1950s glamour, she is particularly fond of balconette bras. Hand-made in London, the collection showcases a complete wardrobe of timeless intimates.
Each and every item is handmade in London using the finest fabrics.
Proud to embrace slow fashion and sustainable and small-scale UK-based production. There’s something romantic and somewhat quaint about handmade lingerie and I feel it’s incredibly important to keep production in the UK. Now more than ever the consumer is questioning how and where their products are made and moving quickly away from throwaway pieces – and we have a responsibility to deliver the best possible product to our customers. The customer should be able to trust that the garment they are wearing is responsibly made and fabrics responsibly sourced.
